Bilingual Copyeditor - Slavic Languages (DOC2510033E)

    Description
    - Copyedit content in one of the following languages: Polish, Romanian, Czech or Slovak
    - Copyedit translated documentation and verify accents, punctuation, characters and/or
      spelling, layout and terminology
    - Set copy style and ensure that content is consistent and reflects the image of the client
    - Monitor potential legal liabilities associated with publishing articles and liaise with legal
      council when necessary
    - Verify all content for accuracy and originality and approve material originated from
      freelancers
    - Work with editors, freelance writers and columnists to discuss changes with the editorial
    - Supervise freelance assignments on an as needed basis

    Requirements
    - Minimum 2 years experience with copy/fact checking
    - University degree/college diploma in journalism, communications, linguistics or
      languages
    - Bilingual (English or French with Polish, Romanian, Czech or Slovak)
    - Excellent copyediting, strong communication and organizational skills
    - Possess well-developed research skills (Internet, publications, etc)
    - Excellent writing and presentation skills
    - A keen eye for detail
    - Must be able to deal with multiple demands in a deadline driven environment
    - Creative and self-motivated
    - Published written material an asset
    - Comfortable with working as a team in a casual setting
    - Highly articulate and able to adapt to change
    - Familiar with translation tools and processes (TRADOS or other memory translation tool)
    - Typesetting/DTP program experience
