Description
- Develops, writes, and edits material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction
books, catalogs, online help in print or electronic media
- Observes production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating
procedure and detail
- Interviews production and engineering personnel and reads journals to become familiar
with product technologies and production methods
- Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards
regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
- Reviews published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and
content
- Maintains records and files of work and revisions
- May select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts to illustrate material
- Prepares or arranges for preparation of index
- May establish the general layout, format and organization for the manual
- Coordinates vendor and in-house services for publication needs
Requirements
- DEC or Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, communications or related field
- Demonstrated ability to plan, research, write and edit technically accurate publications in
clear, precise, and logical form
- Demonstrated ability to translate engineering documents and drawings into text and
sketches/illustrations
- Knowledge of graphics design software like PageMaker, Adobe, etc
- Knowledge and understanding of HTML, MS Word, RoboHelp and FrameMaker
- Additional Qualifications: good communications skills, written and verbal
- Good organizational management skills
- Ability to complete projects independently
- Excellent mastery of the English language
